The Canyon course winds through the hills working its way around a natural creek that runs along side more than half the holes. Beginning with hole #1, this nine gently slopes upward, Canyon #8 crossing and bypassing natural lakes, weaving around stately oaks and leaping over barrancas to finally return with the dramatic par 5, #9. From the lake on #2 and the oak in the center of the 4th fairway to the spectacular views of #8, golfers of all abilities will find this nine challenging, interesting and beautiful.
Canyon Hole #8, Par 3
The spectacular peak of this course, hole #8 offers gorgeous views over the Calero Lakes and the rolling Almaden Hills. With a water hazard guarding to the left of the green, play off the hill right of the green and wish for a friendly kick towards the flag. Gusty winds will try to force your ball left, but a good shot aimed right of the green will nicely move left and land on the green.
Canyon Hole #6Canyon Hole #6, Par 5
Dubbed the hole "Made by God" due to its natural terrain, this 409- (Oak tees) to 508- (Hawk tees) yard-hole plays left to right. There is a standing bet among course regulars that at least one player will deposit his or her ball in the creek extending the length of the hole. Keep the drive left and the second shot right to have any shot at the guarded green.

Canyon Hole #4, Par 4
With a large oak Canyon Hole #4in the middle of the fairway, this par 4 needs to be played right to left, around the tree. Do not attempt to hit through the tree, most likely the ball will hit a branch and some people will get a bit frustrated. Play right of the tree and the slope on the right will let the golf ball bounce back down onto the fairway. The green has two levels, check where the flag is before and attempt to get your approach shot on the right level to make your first putt easier.
Canyon Hole #2, Par 4

From the elevated Canyon Hole #2tee, this hole appears a lot more intimidating than it actually is. Use the slope on the right of the fairway to place your tee shot in the middle. This will make it a bit easier to cross the lake on the second shot. Keep in mind that the green slopes away from you.
